How your "Thrills and Spins" Jet Boat works 

A jet boat is different from other boats as it uses an internal propeller (impeller) to provide propulsion. 

Water is drawn in through an inlet in the bottom of the boat and then driven out through a nozzle at the rear with great force. By turning the nozzle the boat changes direction. The boat can brake and reverse using deflectors and "thurst buckets" similar to a jet aircraft.
